End User License Agreement (EULA)

This License Agreement (« EULA ») governs the use of the HippieTV software (the « Software ») published by JOLABS40Publisher ») by any person who installs, copies or uses it (« User »).

By installing or using the Software, the User acknowledges having read, understood and accepted these terms in full. In case of disagreement, the User must immediately cease use and uninstall the Software.

1. Grant of license

The Publisher grants the User a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Software, for their own private use, subject to compliance with these terms.

This license covers usage on the number of devices corresponding to the subscribed plan (1 for Free, 3 for Pro, 6 for Family). Any simultaneous use beyond this number is prohibited.

2. Restrictions

The User undertakes not to:

  • copy, distribute, sublicense, sell, rent or lend the Software;
  • modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works from the Software;
  • disassemble, decompile, reverse-engineer the Software or attempt to access its source code, except within the strict limits authorised by law (interoperability under article L122-6-1 IV of the French Intellectual Property Code);
  • remove, hide or alter the intellectual property notices or identification information of the Software;
  • bypass the technical protection, license or authentication measures;
  • use the Software for unlawful purposes or in violation of public policy;
  • use the Software to distribute, host or broadcast content for which the User does not hold the rights.

3. Intellectual property

The Software, its source code, its interface, its content, its trademarks and their arrangement are the exclusive property of JOLABS40 and are protected by copyright, trademark law and, where applicable, patent law.

No rights other than those expressly granted in this EULA are transferred to the User.

4. Third-party components and open-source licenses

The Software integrates third-party components under open-source licenses (libmpv under LGPL-2.1+, Tauri under MIT/Apache-2.0, etc.). The exhaustive list of components and their respective licenses is available in the Software via Settings → About → Third-party licenses as well as for download on this site.

These components remain governed by their own license conditions, which prevail over this EULA for the portion of the Software they cover.

5. Updates

The Software may download and automatically install updates cryptographically signed by the Publisher. These updates may add, modify or remove features. The User may disable automatic updates in the settings, on the understanding that they then assume the absence of security patches.

6. Warranties

The Software is provided « as is ». Within the limits authorised by applicable law, the Publisher excludes any express or implied warranty, in particular of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of third-party rights.

No warranty is given regarding the availability, reliability or performance of the Software, nor regarding the content broadcast by third-party IPTV providers.

7. Limitation of liability

Within the limits authorised by applicable law, the Publisher is in no event liable for any indirect damage (data loss, profit loss, opportunity loss, image damage, etc.) resulting from the use or inability to use the Software.

The total cumulative liability of the Publisher towards a User is in any event capped at the amount effectively paid by that User for their subscription over the last 12 months.

These limitations do not apply in case of bodily harm, gross or intentional fault of the Publisher, or any other cause of liability that cannot be legally limited.

8. Termination

The Publisher may terminate this EULA as of right, without notice or compensation, in case of manifest breach by the User of any of their obligations. Termination entails immediate cessation of all User's rights over the Software and the obligation for the User to uninstall the Software.

The User may terminate at any time by uninstalling the Software and deleting their account (see Account → Security).

9. Personal data

Processing of personal data in the context of Software use is governed by the privacy policy.

10. EULA modifications

The Publisher may modify this EULA. Any substantial modification is notified to the User by email at least 30 days before its entry into force. Failing acceptance, the User may terminate by uninstalling the Software.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

This EULA is governed by French law. Failing an amicable agreement, any dispute falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.
